In conjunction with the robot parade organized by the Singapore MIT Alliance for Research and Technology’s Future Urban Mobility Integrated Research Group, ARC will be holding a Graduate Seminar where our staff and students will be speaking on the many exciting industrial partnerships and research work done at ARC!(more...)
Students will take up internships to work with cool robots at Panasonic R&D Singapore and receive an internship allowance, based on qualifications. The expected duration is 4 months, starting as soon as possible. If interested, please contact Prof. David Hsu (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Position 1: Advanced robot manipulation technology The work will involve the development of robot manipulation technology, including AI-powered robot arm manipulation, real-time path planning for robot arms, dual arm collaboration, remote control for robot arm manipulation.
Position 2: Automatic robotic inspection for construction The work will include the mapping, localization and navigation of autonomous mobile robot for building quality inspection. We will refer to the room layout map for navigation. With the map provided, we will investigate the method to plan the scanning path and optimize it for the inspection tasks to cover whole building area and fulfill the accuracy requirements. During the inspection, in the case with obstacles on the scheduled path, the robot can do local path adjustment to avoid the obstacle while still completing the inspection tasks.

The Pacific-Rim Symposium on Image and Video Technology (PSIVT) is a premier level biennial series of symposia that aims to provide a forum for researchers and practitioners in the Pacific Rim and around the world who are involved in contributing to theoretical advances or practical implementations in image and video technology. Submissions are invited on significant, original, and previously unpublished research on all aspects of image and video technology. The deadline for paper submission is 31 May 2022. Do consider submitting a paper to this conference.
The organizing committee is extending the paper/abstract submission deadline for the IEEE OES Autonomous Underwater Vehicles Symposium, 2022 to be held in Singapore, to encourage participation in light of COVID-19 restrictions being eased in Singapore. The extended deadline for paper/abstract submissions is 27th May. We invite submissions from authors working in topics related to marine robotics.
