RobotX Challenge

PUBLISHED 7 DECEMBER 2019

In collaboration with the Future Systems and Technology Directorate (FSTD), US Office of Naval Research (ONR) and Robonation,  NUS Advanced Robotics Centre (ARC) is proud to be part of the successful 2019 RobotX Interactive Forum from 4 to 6 December 2019 at Suntec Singapore. Over 150 delegates, including students, academia, government and industry delegates attended the event.

We are honored to have Prof Quek Tong Boon, Chief Executive of the National Robotics Programme Office (NRPO) to deliver his keynote on “Shaping the Robotics Wave”.

The Forum aims to share the lessons from Maritime RobotX Challenge and to provide technical sharing and exchanges on robotics and autonomy.  The Maritime RobotX Challenge is an USV (unmanned surface vehicle, i.e., unmanned boat) competition that is held every 2 years (even year), the inaugural edition being held in Singapore, 2014.  The RobotX interactive Forum is held every 2 years (odd year). Workshops are organised at the Forum to equip the students with such knowhow which would be valuable in their USV development.  The event also serves to keep the teams in touch with the RobotX Challenge proper.  This year, the virtual RobotX Competition, a simulation competition was organised at the Forum for the first time.
