NUS BEng Robotics and Machine Intelligence

Bachelor of Engineering (Robotics and Machine Intelligence)

The Bachelor of Engineering in Robotics and Machine Intelligence acknowledges the transformative trends influencing the future of engineering, including Advanced Manufacturing, Automation, Robotics, Artificial Intelligence (AI), Computational Modelling, Machine Learning (ML), Digital Twins, Internet of Things (IoT), Smart Materials, Sustainability, Energy Efficiency, and Renewable Energy - both locally in Singapore and globally. The programme was developed directly in response to industry needs and feedback, emphasising the growing importance of intelligent systems in robotics. It reflects the increasing demand for graduates with expertise in Robotics and Machine Learning.

Robotics Specialisation (Undergraduate)

The Robotics Specialisation within the Bachelor of Engineering (Biomedical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering - wef AY23/24, Sem 1) curriculum at NUS is a multidisciplinary study that draws on expertise from various departments. The specialisation allows students to take a hands-on approach to learning through small projects in the modules and a final year project on robotics. Students will need to design and construct robotic systems or their components. As with all engineering design and implementation, students will need to communicate their design to their peers so that different components can work together or in a bigger system. With the knowledge and experience in robotics, automation, and artificial intelligence, graduates from this programme will be ready to contribute to the high-tech industries that Singapore is nurturing.

MSc in Robotics

The Master of Science (MSc) (Robotics) programme equips students with the fundamentals of robotics, providing the depth and breadth necessary to succeed in the future robotics sector, within the Industry 4.0 landscape, and beyond. The field of robotics is vast and finds applications in a diverse range of industrial sectors. The curriculum is based on a set of core courses that build up the fundamentals of these pillars in the students. The students are then given the option to select specific areas of robotics from a number of elective courses, going in depth into horizontal robotic technologies or vertical robot applications.

Graduate Certificate in Robot Design

The Graduate Certificate in Robot Design is a project-based programme focused on growing robot applications in local industries. Projects are proposed by companies or NUS academic staff, helping engineers expand their knowledge and skills to address new challenges in related industrial fields.

Graduate Certificate in Robotics Science and Engineering

The Graduate Certificate (GC) in Robotics Science and Engineering is a coursework-based programme and offers a comprehensive coverage of topics that are of great relevance to  local industries in which the applications of robot are increased significantly. The courses offered in this GC programme will enhance the knowledge and expertise of the engineers and prepare them for new challenges in the related industrial sectors.
