Abstract
Title: Autonomous Driving in Rainy Conditions
Abstract: Autonomous driving in adverse weather is a challenging and yet under-explored topic. One of the main challenges is the degraded performance of sensors and algorithms caused by adverse weather. Singapore is situated near the equator with frequent rainfall all year round. Therefore, how to obtain a stable system performance for self-driving cars in rainy weather is a practical and urgent problem. In this seminar, we will discuss the key challenges from the perspective of autonomous driving systems and share our recent progress in this direction.
About the Speaker: The presenter is a second-year doctoral student under the supervision of Professor Marcelo Ang. His current research focus is to develop solutions for autonomous driving in rainy weather. Currently, he is conducting research in the Autonomous Vehicle team at Singapore‑MIT Alliance for Research and Technology (SMART).
