Job Opening in Rolls Royce@NTU for Research Fellow

The Rolls Royce@NTU Corporate Lab is looking for an aspiring Research Fellow to work on cutting edge technologies in novel electrical/electromechanical actuation that could be applied into aerospace and land power generation applications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Study of mechanisms of kinematics and dynamics and building suitable simulation models
  • Perform electromagnetic analysis of electrical machines and heat transfer on actuator system
  • Develop electrical and mechanical models for designing suitable actuation systems design based on the specific requirements provided
  • Work with suppliers to acquire parts necessary in the concept validation
  • Build hardware prototypes to establish the concepts shortlisted in the laboratory
  • Follow the Health, Safety and Environment policies and practices
  • Work with cross functional research team to integrate the necessary requirements into the models
  • Propose suitable solutions for the given problem statement
  • Guide and mentor students attached to the project

Job Requirements:

  • PhD/ degree in Robotics/Mechanical/Mechatronics engineering
  • Working experience on actuation systems design
  • Working experience on the area of mechanical/electrical system modelling
  • Experience with modelling and design tools
  • Experience with mechanisms kinematics and dynamics
  • Exposure to electromagnetic analysis of electrical machines and heat transfer will be an additional plus
  • Strong analytical and conceptual abilities
  • Able to work independently and in a team to deliver quality work on time
  • A strong drive to develop yourself and a deep interest in technology
  • Good command of oral and written English.
