Bumblebee Autonomous Systems and Yonah mentioned by Dr Ng Eng Hen

posted on 4 Jan 2019

Dr Ng Eng Hen, the Minister for Defence wrote on his Facebook:

“Total Defence also means utilising the talents of young Singaporeans in engineering and science. DSO National Laboratories has supported many such projects. Good examples are a team of National University of Singapore alumni (Yonah) who are building unmanned drones to provide medical supplies to rural communities, and another team of undergraduates who have developed unmanned autonomous underwater vehicles.

Dubbed Bumblebee Autonomous Systems, the latter team made up of NUS Engineering and NUS School of Computing students got first prize in the RoboNation – AUVSI Foundation’s RobotX Maritime Challenge just last month – ahead of 14 other international teams.”

The NUS Advanced Robotics Centre is proud to be associated with both the Yonah and Bumblebee Autonomous Systems teams and has strongly supported them in their endeavours.
